Snowy Egrets, like their cousin the Tri-colored Heron, can often be found dip-feeding in the larger ponds. They swim very close to the water's surface, watching for tiny fish and other prey at the water's surface as they fly. When a morsel is spotted, they dip their bill into the water, catching and consuming the morsel on the wing.
